Introduction to Road Miles

You earn Road Miles every time GigsWiz posts an update to your Facebook or Twitter, and for every ticket sold. When you are signed in, you will see your current Road Miles and tips for getting more Road Miles on the Backstage page.

By the time you have signed up (+1,000 Road Miles) and set up your Facebook (+500 Road Miles) and Twitter accounts (+500 Road Miles each), you already have 2,000 Road Miles on your account! Once you reach 5,000 Road Miles, you can start cashing them out via PayPal. 5,000 Road Miles amounts to 75 US Dollars or 50 British Pounds.

GigsWiz shares one third of its 15% booking fee with the artists. This means that artists using GigsWiz get at least 5% extra of all tickets sold though GigsWiz. For example, if the total face value of tickets sold to your gigs is $3,000 annually, the artist will receive at least $600 in rewards from GigsWiz. The artists can withdraw the rewards whenever they wish, as soon as they have reached a minimum level of 5,000 Road Miles.

For those bands who've really racked up the Road Miles, we'll even include a request for bookings in our newsletter to promoters if you inform us of when you're looking to book up your next tour. Promoters are more likely to book a band they can see have done a good job at promoting their gigs.

The details of how Road Miles are calculated

You can earn Road Miles in many ways: set-up rewards, referral rewards and rewards for gig promotion. You can exchange these points into cash through PayPal. Set-up rewards are points that are credited for signing up to the service and for setting up the social media feeds like Facebook and Twitter. Rewards from gig promotion are credited to your account after a gig has taken place. You are credited for each social media post entered by GigsWiz. There are two posts per gig, the first one goes out when the gig is confirmed and the other one 8 days before the gig as a reminder.

Additional Road Miles based on sales performance are rewarded after the gig, based on how much of the ticket sales took place through links spread by the artist. GigsWiz tracks the ticket purchases that happen through links in the messages we have automatically posted on your social media channels. You get Road Miles that amount to 4% of the ticket sales that have taken place through those links and additional 1% of ALL the tickets sold through GigsWiz (including for example the ticket sales that happens through gig listing services or through the venue's web pages). In cases, where you are playing with other bands on the same evening, you each get 4% of the ticket sales through your links and split the 1% of total sales with the other bands.

Well, that's all pretty detailed. The important thing for you to remember is that GigsWiz guarantees that, at any point in time, the total Road Miles you have been credited amounts to at least 5% of the total ticket sales to your gigs. This is is one-third of the total 15% booking fee, that GigsWiz charges on top of the ticket face values. The latest Road Miles rewards are listed on the right side of your Backstage page.
