How to Use
Everyone knows there's more to being a successful band than just what you do on stage or in the studio. Getting out on the road and travelling the length and breadth of the country in your beat up old tour van and promoting your gigs like crazy to drag a crowd along is hard work.
We believe that artists should be rewarded for their efforts in helping to promote their gigs, and those that work the hardest should be heralded for doing so. With GigsWiz, not only is your on-line promotion made easier, you get rewarded for making full use of the system and helping sell tickets for your shows by earning 'Road Miles'.
1. How to Get Started?
First of all, you need to sign up for the GigsWiz Backstage service. You will immediately receive a confirmation email with a link. Open the link to confirm your email address and sign-in for the first time. The first time you sign in, the service will ask you to give the basic information about your band.
After that, you are ready to set up Facebook and Twitter accounts and can start collecting Road Miles (see below).
2. How to Set Up Social Media Accounts?
Once you have signed up, you need to setup your social media accounts, Facebook and Twitter. After you've done that, you won't have to worry about updating your gig information to different channels in the future - we will make sure information about your gigs is posted to your social media feeds. We will post one message as soon as a new gig is confirmed (when the event organizer puts the tickets on sale) and a reminder message 8 days before your gig. For example, on Facebook the message will look like this:
To enable automatic posts to your Facebook fan page, click the "Facebook setup" link on the right side of the Backstage page. This will take you to a Facebook login screen (unless you are already logged in to Facebook). Make sure you log in with an account that has admin rights for your Facebook fan page. Then select your the page that you want to associate with your GigsWiz account and you're done!
It's the same for Twitter. Just click the "Twitter setup" link on the Backstage page and enter your Twitter account details and you are set! Read the last section on this page for advice, if you have any trouble setting up the social media accounts.
3. How to Collect and Cash Out Road Miles?
You earn Road Miles every time we post an update to your Facebook or Twitter, and for every ticket sold. Through the Road Miles program GigsWiz shares one third of its 15% booking fees with the artists that are using the service. Read more about the Road Miles program and how to collect your rewards.
4. Troubleshooting
Having Trouble Signing Up to the Service?
You should receive an email within a few minutes of filling in your email address and password on the sign-up page. If you do not receive the email in your inbox, please check if it has been placed in your junk mail.
If you do have the confirmation email, but the link in the email does not work, try copy-pasting the link to the address line in your browser. Please note, that the link is quite long and that is should be on one line. Some email clients might break the link on to two lines. Try copy-pasting the link without line-breaks in to the browser's address line.
If you still can't find the confirmation email or if you can't get the link to work, please send an email to support@gigswiz.com.
Having Trouble Signing in to Your Account?
If you have signed up successfully, but can't get back in, you have probably forgotten your password. You can get yourself a new password by entering your email address at http://www.gigswiz.com/user/passwordForgot and following the instructions.
If you have any other problems signing in, please send us an email to support@gigswiz.com
Having Trouble Setting Up Your Social Media Accounts?
For setting up a Facebook account you need to have a Facebook fan page. You can not automate the gig message to individual (personal) accounts. Make sure you log in to Facebook with an account that has an admin rights to the Facebook fan page. If everything seems to be order, but you still can get the Facebook page set up, please contact support@gigswiz.com detailing the problem and we will help you immediately.
